Between the flexibility of employees and the challenges of communication

Since the Korona pandemic, the combination of work from home and office attendance has become part of daily life in many companies, with the increasing demand for this pattern that provides great flexibility for employees and increases their satisfaction.
The Mannheim Institute for Economic Research (ZEW), which included about 1,200 companies from the manufacturing and information sectors in June 2025, showed that more than two -thirds of companies consider hybrid work models a basic advantage that helps to attract skilled competencies and maintain employee satisfaction.
However, these models are not without challenges, as two -thirds of companies believe that hybrid work negatively affects internal communication and teamwork, which may reduce productivity and innovation.
Despite these challenges, the majority of companies plan to continue or expand work remotely, as 29% of IT companies and 34% of manufacturing companies expect the number of employees who work from home. The data also showed that 88% of the manufacturing companies and 98% of the large information sector companies already adopt the work options, with a clear increase since the Korona pandemic, which reflects a sustainable shift towards flexibility in work methods.
