The poet of a million starts from Riyadh in the first rounds of the jury
Riyadh on August 24 / WAM / The first round of the jury of the twelfth season of the “Poet of the Million” program, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and the interviews will continue until August 28, with the wide participation of poets.
Poets flock daily from nine in the morning until nine in the evening to present their poems before the jury, which includes Dr. Sultan Al -Amimi, Dr. Ghassan Al -Hassan, and the poet Hamad Al -Saeed, in an effort to qualify for the advanced stages and carry the lightning of Nabati poetry. The new season carries the slogan “Our Poem One”, to emphasize the position of poetry as part of Arab identity and culture.
The Riyadh tour has the wide participation of the Kingdom’s poets, as the previous seasons of the program witnessed the arrival of 36 Saudi poets to the finals out of 61, including two poets, while three Saudi poets won the title in the third, eighth and eleventh seasons.
During this tour, the jury meets the poets, listens to their poems and evaluates them, giving the participants an opportunity to join the list of 100, whether by passing the basic tests or by obtaining the gold card that is granted to distinguished poets and is a testimony from the committee to the superiority of their poems.
The twelfth season witnesses a wide participation of poets representing 25 countries, which confirms the status of the program as a leading Arab poetic platform.
The jury continues after Riyadh to reach Kuwait on September 3 and 4, then Amman on September 9 and 10, and Muscat on September 16, before concluding in Abu Dhabi on September 22, 23 and 2425.
With the conclusion of these tours, 100 poets who are subject to the most accurate liquidation stages are chosen to 48 people who are qualified to direct episodes, as the journey of competition begins to carry the Bairaq and win the title of “Poet of the Million”.
