"Abu Dhabi Heritage" Participates in the International Dates Festival in Ethiopia

Abu Dhabi, August 28 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority participated in the activities of the first session of the International Festival of Ethiopian Dates, in the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia, organized by the General Secretariat of the Khalifa International Prize for Dates and Innovation Palm, during the period from 26 to 28 August, with the wide participation of agricultural experts, researchers and exhibitors from different countries of the world.
Through its participation, the authority seeks to transfer the leading Emirati experience in the field of palm cultivation and dates production, enhance cooperation with international institutions to develop this vital sector, and highlight the heritage dimension of dates.
The festival is an international platform aimed at enhancing the position of dates, displaying its varieties, introducing palm products and modern technologies, and exchanging experiences in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing and marketing, amid a wide turnout from participants and visitors.
His Excellency Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festival and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, said that the authority’s participation comes within the framework of its continuous efforts to enhance the Emirati presence on the international scene, and represents an opportunity to review the leading Emirati experiences in the field of palm cultivation and dates production, and enhance cooperation with international institutions in order to develop this vital sector and support global efforts to achieve food security and sustainable agricultural development, and an opportunity to highlight the dimension Heritage and cultural dates, and show their value as an important agricultural symbol.
