"Million poet" It concludes the first jury tour in Riyadh
Riyadh on August 29/ WAM/ The “Poet of the Million” program concluded yesterday, the first tours of the jury interviews to choose the stars of the twelfth season of the program organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority under the slogan “Our Poem One”.
The first station witnessed a wide turnout, as the number of contestants that the committee met reached 473 contestants, who provided distinguished levels that resulted in 8 of them obtaining the gold card that qualified them directly to the hundred stage preceding the selection and announcement of the list of 48 poets.
Dr. Sultan Al -Amimi, Executive Director of the Poetry and Heritage Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, member of the jury, confirmed that the Riyadh round in the twelfth season witnessed a great demand from the poets of the Kingdom, and a successful tour of all standards, whether technically related to the level of poets that the committee met, or both organizational and media aspects.
He explained that the maturity of the poetic experience is not measured by age or the number of years of writing, but is related to several factors, including the richness of poetic language, the diversity of topics, and the extent of the poet’s awareness of the structure of the text and poetic image, stressing that these elements combined reflect the degree of awareness and awareness that determines the level of artistic maturity of young poets.
He pointed out that the “Golden Card” has become an essential element in the program’s tours because of the motivational impact it has among the contestants, noting that the jury was hoping that the opportunity would be available to grant a greater number of these cards, given the advanced level provided by the contestants in each round.
For its part, the advisory committee of the program, consisting of the poet Turki Al -Marikhi and the poet Badr Safouq, indicated that her message to poets this season is to be interested in the quality of the text, not to repeat the mistakes of previous poets, with depth in poetic images, and self -writing in a way that reflects creativity and maturity in Nabati poetry, preserves its legacy, and renews it in a distinct way.
The jury included alongside Dr. Sultan Al -Amimi, Dr. Ghassan Al -Hassan and the poet Hamad Al -Saeed, who praised the talents that have emerged at the Riyadh station, and confirmed that the new season continues to establish the position of the “poet of the million” as an important platform to discover and refine poetic talents.
The program is preparing to move to its second station in the State of Kuwait on September 3 and 4, to continue the competition trip, leading to the coronation in the Bayriq.
