In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, the UAE has urgently sent the UAE search and rescue team of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, National Guard and joint operations leadership, to support search and rescue efforts and support those affected by the earthquake that struck the eastern regions of Afghanistan.

The UAE has also sent urgent humanitarian aid that includes basic relief materials that include food, medical supplies, and shelter tents, with the aim of supporting the affected, wounded and injured, and mitigating the effects of disaster on the affected families.

This comes within the framework of the UAE’s immediate relief response to those affected by natural disasters and various crises, based on its international responsibilities and humanitarian mission, and its keenness to quickly extend a helping hand to help the afflicted and needy around the world.
