Consumers complain about the high prices of goods offers after their stability for a long time

Consumers said that large sales outlets in the country raised the prices of offers for basic and non -basic commodities, after they remained on fixed levels without change for long months.

They explained to «Emirates Today» that the rise in the prices of offers included trademarks of refrigerated meat and frozen chicken cut, rice and tea, legumes, juices, soap, shampoo, and others.

On the other hand, two officials in the outlets said that several factors behind the high prices, most notably the increase in the cost of transportation, changes in the prices of goods in the country of origin, the high demand for some brands, and the intensity of competition, pointing to the increase in the prices of offers during the summer period to compensate for the decline in sales, given the summer vacations outside the country.

Fixed levels

In detail, the consumer, Fadwa Irfan, said that “sales outlets have branches in the various emirates of the state raised the prices of goods offers after they remained on fixed levels without change for long months.”

She explained that one of the outlets raised the price of a kilo from one of the varieties of beef, in the show, from 31 dirhams to 39 dirhams, an increase of 25.8%, and the last port raised the price of one of the types of soap that has a large demand to 24.80 dirhams for four pieces, after the offer price was fixed for a year at a year at 18.30 dirhams, an increase of 35.5%.

The consumer, Mona Yassin, agreed that she noticed that selling outlets with branches in the various emirates of the country, raised offers prices, after she remained on fixed levels without change for long months.

She explained that one of the outlets raised the supply price for one of the imported basmati rice classes, which has a large turnout, from 52 dirhams per kilogram to 60 dirhams, with an increase of 15.4%, and the same port increased the supply price on one of the types of shampoo from 20 dirhams to 27.50 dirhams, an increase of 37.5%, after the value of the offer remained fixed for long months.

The consumer, Hashem Al -Sayed, asked about the reasons for raising large selling outlets for their offers, after they remained at low levels without change for long months, which encouraged him to buy them permanently, especially as it is characterized by quality.

He explained that one of the outlets raised the price of one of the types of tea from 20 dirhams to 25.95 dirhams, an increase of approximately 30%, and the last outlet increased the price of frozen chicken pieces from one of the brands from 22.25 dirhams to 26 dirhams, with an increase of approximately 17%, and the price of one of the types of juices increased from 9.75 dirhams to 12.25 dirhams, with an increase of 25.6%.

Offers prices

For his part, the official in one of the major sales outlets, Hassan Rizk, said that “the prices of many offers are changing in nature, and raising the values ​​of some offers after their stability for a long time due mainly to the high price of the commodity in the country of origin or an emergency increase in its cost, such as increasing the cost of productive operations as a result of the high prices of raw materials or the high prices of transport and shipping operations.”

The official in another outlet, Rajev Tamara, agreed with Rizk, explaining that there are additional factors that may be behind the height, such as the high demand for the commodity and the lack of competition in the market, as well as the desire of producers to increase the prices of offers during the summer period to compensate for the decline in sales, given the summer vacations outside the country.

In this regard, he explained that the values ​​of the offers by their nature are changing, and the values ​​of the offers may be due to their previous prices in the event that the conditions that led to their rise changed, indicating that any change is made or in full coordination with the suppliers and producers of the commodity.
