Suhail Al Mazrouei: We aim to raise the contribution of the logistical sector to the national economy to more than 200 billion dirhams

Dubai, September 7 / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, President of the Emirates Council for logistical integration, confirmed that the Council aims to raise the contribution of the logistical sector to the national economy from about 136.7 billion dirhams in 2024 to more than 200 billion dirhams during the next seven years.

His Excellency explained during his presidency of the first meeting of the Emirates Council for logistical integration, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry’s office in Dubai, that these targets are consistent with the vision of “We Emirates 2031”, aimed at consolidating the state’s position among the best three countries in the world in the logistical performance index, through developing an advanced infrastructure, providing smart services, and adopting integrated systems that enhance the global trade movement and keep pace with the latest developments in supply chains.

He pointed out that the UAE Council for Logistical Integration will work to launch qualitative initiatives that enhance digital and green transformation in the transport and logistical services sector, by expanding smart solutions, reducing carbon emissions, and achieving a balance between economic growth and environmental protection, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to the path of sustainable development.

He stressed that the council will be a platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences between all parties concerned with the logistical sector at the federal and local levels, stressing that the UAE strategic location, which is associated with advanced logistical infrastructure, qualifies it to remain a major global center for trade, re -export and logistical services.

He stressed that the concerted efforts and the integration of roles between the federal and local authorities and the private sector represents an essential pillar to achieve the council’s targets, and reach a more efficient and sustainable logistical sector, keeping pace with the UAE’s aspirations for the next fifty years, and enhances its leadership on the global competitive map.

He pointed out that the logistics sector is one of the pillars of the national economy, and contributes effectively to the gross domestic product, and provides thousands of specific job opportunities, as well as its role in attracting foreign investments and enhancing the attractiveness of the state as an advanced and reliable business environment. The sector also establishes the UAE’s position as a global center for trade and re -export, and supports pivotal sectors.

He noted that in the year 2023, the UAE achieved a prominent achievement of its solutions in the seventh place globally, which reflects the volume of huge investments in developing an advanced infrastructure, in addition to a modern network of roads, and the adoption of the latest global technologies and practices, noting that these achievements confirm that the UAE logistical sector represents a major driver for economic growth, and a pivotal factor in promoting the state’s regionally regionally And globally.

His Excellency stressed that the logistics sector is constantly developing to become better and more sustainable, explaining that through integration and cooperation, the sector level can be raised, enhanced its efficiency, reduces costs, and provides a better experience for customers.

The Emirates Council for Logistics In its membership includes all the authorities concerned with the logistical sector at the federal and local levels, including ports, roads, transportation, customs, trains, ports, etc., to be an integrated platform for coordinating policies and strategies, simplifying procedures, and developing quality services that enhance the smooth flow of goods and support state competitiveness.

The establishment of the Council comes within the framework of the national efforts aimed at unifying visions and coordinating roles between the various concerned parties, in a way that contributes to enhancing the efficiency of the sector, and consolidating the UAE’s position as a central link in the global trade system.

In its first meeting, the Council discussed several major axes centered on logistical integration in the UAE, in a way that enhances the interdependence between various transportation patterns, and keeps pace with the direction towards digital and smart solutions that support national strategies, and the orientation comes within a comprehensive vision to develop an integrated logistical sector capable of meeting the requirements of accelerated economic growth, and consolidating the state’s position as a global center for trade, re -export and services Logistics.

It also dealt with the topic of preparing and adopting the national strategy for logistical integration, in addition to data files, digital platforms and other relevant issues, where it was agreed to form sub -teams linked to the council to follow up on the recommendations and implement the assignments issued in this framework, as well as the subject of the bureaucracy within the logistical sectors, especially the maritime transport sector, as an advanced model to simplify the procedures and achieve qualitative leaps in The efficiency of government services, in line with the state’s commitment to establishing a global government system, is based on more efficient, quality and effective services, which contributes to raising the state’s competitiveness at the regional and international levels.

The Council touched on the National Maritime Navigation Center as an embodiment of the strategic vision of the UAE in building an integrated naval system that supports national trends towards sustainability and innovation, and establishes the state’s position in a world leading marine force.

The center is a qualitative addition to the march of development of the marine infrastructure, as it will manage and operate the integrated national system to monitor the movement of ships, in addition to the operation of the unified marine national window aimed at unifying procedures and raising the efficiency of maritime operations, in order to enhance the state’s role as a major axis of trade and marine services.

The center is a basic pillar in achieving a number of strategic goals, foremost of which is enhancing the security and safety of maritime navigation, facilitating the movement of trade, providing immediate and reliable information to support decision -makers, as well as achieve a set of fundamental benefits, most notably enhancing national security, supporting response and institutional integration plans, providing accurate and fast data, developing research and investigation capabilities, in addition to ensuring operational excellence and maritime safety, and maritime safety, And consolidating the reputation of the Emirates as a global marine force, as well as protecting the environment and enhancing the principles of sustainability.

The first meeting of the Council also reviewed the mechanisms of strengthening partnership with the private sector, as it is an essential partner in the march of development and development, and in a way that contributes to the consolidation of the UAE’s position as a favorite destination for global investments in this vital sector, and also witnessed a presentation presented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, dealing with a specialized study on air freight and strategic dimensions and its role in supporting economic growth and enhancing global competitiveness of the state.
