Institute of Technology Innovation and"Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding" They launch a marine innovation center

Abu Dhabi, September 10/ WAM/ The Institute of Technology Innovation, the Applied Research Arm of the Advanced Technology Research Council, signed a cooperation agreement with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company to expand the prospects for development in the field of marine technology.
Under the agreement, the Maritime Innovation Center, which will contribute to enhancing searches, development and testing for innovations of the new generation of marine technologies, will be established, including the areas of payment, materials and safe and independent systems.
Dr. Najwa Al -Araj, CEO of the Institute of Technology Innovation, said, “Our partnership with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company embodies our common vision to manufacture the future of marine capabilities through scientific innovation led by advanced research, and by taking advantage of the research strengths of the Institute of Technology Innovation and Operating Experience enjoyed by the Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company, we draw a path that speeds up the transmission of technologies The developed from the concept to implementation, and enhances the leadership of Abu Dhabi in the maritime sector globally.
For his part, David Massi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company, said, “The new marine innovation center represents an embodiment of our commitment to consolidating the UAE’s location as a leading force in the field of marine defense technologies and innovations globally, and through specialized experiences and strategic partnerships, we aim to set new standards in the fields of maritime defense, sustainability and advanced maritime operations.”
Under the agreement, the two parties will launch joint initiatives to advance the wheel of innovation in the maritime field, by exploring emerging techniques such as magnetic quantum sensing and computer water dynamics inspired by quantum principles, as well as developing robots and underwater autonomous techniques, and advanced materials such as corrosion -resistant coatings and complex shields.
Cooperation also includes projects in the fields of marine independence, underwater driving systems, communication solutions and detection of divers, as well as advanced sonar techniques and marine structures.
The two parties will employ their technical experiences, test facilities and common integration capabilities, ensuring the rapid transition of these innovations from research laboratories to actual application on the ground.
The Maritime Innovation Center is the focus of this cooperation, as it represents a joint laboratory management and financing, dedicated to the development, testing and integration of the most advanced marine systems.
The center will provide realistic experimental environments, a common technical vision and a platform for exchanging experiences and skills.
Through this framework, the center will prepare to establish a qualitative cooperation model that allows the leading naval bodies locally and globally to test and adopt the latest technologies and marine solutions in realistic operational environments, under the supervision of specialized experts.
The center is based on previous successes for cooperation between the Institute of Technology Innovation and Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company, especially by developing advanced unmanned surface vehicles, including a surface march-ranging vehicle with hidden and independent capabilities, along with the 170 M-Detector ship, designed to work in mine control tasks and peripheral activities.
This project combined the institute’s experience in technological integration and the capabilities of Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company in design and tests, to constitute a model for cooperation that the new center will work to consolidate and expand.
This cooperation embodies Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision in consolidating firm defensive capabilities led by innovation, and highlights the status of the Institute of Technology Innovation and Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company as two pioneering sides in developing future marine technologies.
