المملكة: King Abdulaziz Public Library highlights the Kingdom’s antiquities through various studies

Issued The Kingdom’s antiquities, which date back more than 10 thousand years, while it possesses (625) titles of books and studies dealing with Saudi antiquities.
The studies and books issued by the library in recent years have included a group of books that include historical and archaeological monuments in the Kingdom. The library has also issued a comprehensive encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 20 volumes that includes among its pages the various antiquities of the Kingdom in all thirteen regions, and contains valuable information about these antiquities.
A Cultural Image
As the Kingdom has recently witnessed a large group of archaeological discoveries that reflect the cultural image of the Kingdom throughout the ages, the library presents a summary of its most prominent publications in the field of antiquities.
The library issued the book: (Saudi Arabia), which is a black and white illustrated book, which includes various pictures from the Kingdom taken by the international photographer (Umberto De Silveira). For various historical sites and antiquities.
It also published the book (HEGRA The Stone), which is a large illustrated book issued by the library in 2013 AD, and includes various black and white pictures of many Historical and archaeological landmarks in the Kingdom, also captured by the international photographer (Umberto de Silveira), and the book shows the Kingdom’s various treasures and antiquities.
Comprehensive Presentation
In the book: (Riyadh – The Old City) there is a comprehensive presentation of the city of Riyadh from its beginning until the 1950s AD, as it recounts the history of the city, and describes its geography and antiquities and an accurate description of it being the country’s political capital, and how it was the starting point for the unification of the country by King Abdulaziz. (May God have mercy on him) The importance of this book lies in establishing the historical dimension of the city of Riyadh, and the antiquities and ancient heritage it contains.
The book: (Saudi Features and Places), prepared by a group of researchers in the field of antiquities, includes pictures and features of (225) places, features, heritage icons, and sites in various pictures that represent the various aspects of life in the Kingdom with its social, cultural, natural, and civilizational diversity. Definitions and explanations of the pictures have been developed. In: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, and Chinese.

One of the important research books that comes in the field of monitoring ancient Hajj routes is the book: (Darb Zubaida), which was published in the English language, written by Dr. Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Rashed, entitled:
Medieval Routes To Mecca
A Study if The Darb Zubaydah Pilgrim Trail
The Zubaydah Trail is the Iraqi pilgrim’s route to Mecca and the Holy Sites. It was issued by the library as a contribution to introducing the Kingdom’s heritage and Islamic civilization.
It includes an introduction and six chapters that include: Hajj routes in the pre-Islamic period and Hajj routes in the early days of Islam and in the Abbasid era. The early events and events that took place on the road in the late Islamic eras until the end of the use of the road. The author was keen to include in the book an appendix that includes a definition of the stations and houses of the road and its branches. The Zubaydah Trail and its monuments such as: ponds, springs, and the ruins of houses and stations remained a witness to a glorious and ancient Islamic civilization.
Geographic characteristics
The library has issued an encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which consists of 20 volumes containing information about the Kingdom with its regions, cities, villages, and Including the chapters dealing with (antiquities, historical sites, geographical and economic characteristics, and natural resources) and what falls within the field of antiquities, supported by pictures, illustrative maps, and modern statistics.
It also issued the Encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for children and adolescents, and its scientific material was presented in a manner that suits the target group. The encyclopedia came in nine parts and included (1800) pictures and (624) technical drawings, in addition to (100) tables (40) and maps. The encyclopedia, which is based on the comprehensive encyclopedia of the Kingdom issued by the library, dealt with: geographical characteristics in the Kingdom, historical development, historical monuments and sites, social patterns, customs and traditions, cultural movement, development services and facilities, economy, natural resources, wildlife and tourism. It is illustrated and contains (484) pages of large pieces, and its pictures are explained in Arabic and English, to reflect ancient archaeological scenes full of various arts and inscriptions.
The book (Equestrian), which was published in two large parts containing (564) pages, comes to include a large collection of archaeological evidence and pictures of inscriptions and rock drawings in the Kingdom about horses, camels and horsemanship, which are inscriptions that express the historical and archaeological depth that the Kingdom contains in various regions. And cities and villages.
