Sharjah boats enhance its global start with a strategy and institutional support

Sharjah, on September 13 / WAM / The Sharjah team for the “Formula 1” boats continues its distinguished performance in the 2025 World Championship competitions, confirming its position among the elite international teams, thanks to the remarkable performance of its artistic and sports crew, and the encouraging results he achieved in the first rounds of the season, which enhances his serious ambitions to compete for the championship title.
This brilliance comes as a fruit of the good vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who was directed in 2014 to establish the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, according to the Emiri Decree No. (60), to be a pioneering incubator for the development of marine sports in the emirate, and a platform for organizing its various competitive and entertainment activities.
Since its foundation, the club has worked to establish its position as a regional and global destination, putting its eyes as strategic goals based on the advancement and development of marine sports, and supporting the heroes to achieve global achievements, while adhering to the highest security and safety standards in organizing races, as well as reviving the heritage marine races and motivating young people to participate in it, in the context of preserving the cultural identity and marine heritage.
The club includes an integrated facilities to support modern and heritage activities, as it adopts firm institutional values based on excellence, innovation, sportsmanship, and mutual respect, with a clear commitment to the principles of sustainable development and social responsibility.
In terms of achievements, the Sharjah team for the “Formula 1” boats succeeded in establishing its international presence in recent years, achieving prominent results in the various world championship rounds, and a group of names that have proven its efficiency and professionalism in this type of sports.
In the 2025 season, the team recorded a strong start through its results in the opening rounds, where he took the coronation platform in the first round, and continued its strong presence by preserving its position within the first five places in the following two rounds, to remain within the circle of the teams that are strongly nominated to crown the global title, with four crucial rounds remaining on the championship calendar, in prominent European and Asian cities.
This success is due to the strategic planning and the great support that the team enjoys from the club’s leadership, in addition to the technical excellence of the team, and its possession of competitive boats and high experience drivers, able to keep up with the strongest international teams.
The team includes a number of prominent drivers, including veteran driver Sami Celio, former world champion and long experience in “Formula 1” races, along with the Norwegian driver Marius Anderson, who achieved remarkable results with the team in a number of rounds, as well as Philip Rostwette, Rasti White, and a group of young cadres representing the new generation.
The fans of marine sports in the country and abroad are awaiting the next rounds of the team in the world championship, hoping that he will continue his distinguished career and write a new chapter of achievements in the name of Emirati sport, and confirms Sharjah’s position as the capital of modern and heritage naval sports.
His Excellency Khaled bin Jassim Al -Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, stressed that the Sharjah team in the past years and its first rounds in the current season reflects a clear strategic vision, and a great support from the wise leadership, which has given marine sports great importance and made it an authentic corner in the emirate’s identity and civilization.
He added that these successes are the result of an integrated institutional work, an advanced infrastructure, studied scientific planning, and advanced training programs, indicating that the aspirations do not stop at the borders of a championship or a season, but rather aim to consolidate the Sharjah site as a major player in the map of international marine sports.
For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Issa Al -Hosani, Director General of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, explained that the team’s superiority is based on a “commitment trilogy” of the player’s discipline, the group’s spirit, and continuous support by the club by providing the latest boats and technologies necessary for success.
He pointed out that the club is no longer limited to the use of modern technology, but also an active partner in its development, in cooperation with local universities, experts and engineers, which contributes to supporting innovation in the fast boat industry and enhancing Sharjah’s leadership in this vital field.
He stressed that the club is working according to the culture of continuous improvement, as performance is analyzed after each race in order to enhance strengths and overcome challenges, as well as the development of the talent base through the specialized academy, and investment in sports data analysis techniques.
