The secretariat confirmed that field supervisory teams continue their daily tours of markets, food stores and commercial establishments, to verify the safety and suitability of the products offered, and follow up on compliance with municipal and health requirements, in addition to addressing observations immediately, in a way that ensures the safety of consumers and raises the quality of services provided.

It explained that its operational plans for the Eid al-Fitr season include intensifying health and municipal oversight of food establishments and public benefit markets, in addition to enhancing cleaning, environmental sanitation, and crowd management in commercial areas, in line with the expected density of shoppers during the last days of the month of Ramadan.

A number of shoppers expressed their satisfaction with the availability of goods and the diversity of options in the markets, pointing out that the Ramadan atmosphere in Mecca gives shopping a special character, Especially with the presence of visitors and pilgrims, many of whom are keen to buy gifts and souvenirs before they leave.
