The dollar ascends and declines oil prices

New York on September 18 / WAM / The US dollar rose today after declining to the lowest level in three and a half years.
The dollar index came to the lowest level since February 2022 at 96.224 against a group of major currencies immediately after the interest rate decision, but it returned to rise strongly as it climbed 0.44 percent to 97.074, and increased a little today to settle at 97.163.
Oil prices also decreased when settlement today.
Brent crude futures for 51 cents, or 0.8 percent to $ 67.44 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures decreased 48 cents, or 0.8 percent to $ 63.57.
The market has also been pressured as the supply and poor fuel demand continued in the United States, the largest oil consumer in the world.
