0.3% expected growth in Italy’s GDP during the first quarter

Rome, June 1, 2026 – The Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) raised its estimate for Italian GDP growth during the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous three months to 0.3%, compared to previous estimates of 0.2%.

The institute also raised – according to its latest data – estimates of GDP growth on an annual basis in Italy during the first quarter by 0.1 percentage point to reach 0.8%, indicating that the expected annual growth rate for the year 2026 will reach 0.6%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous estimate, which reflects a slight improvement in the prospects for the Italian economy during the current year.
