The President of the Libyan Presidential Council: The Libyans’ blood

This came in his speech in the general discussion of the General Assembly today, Thursday, in which he stressed that “the blood of the Libyans is a red line, and that the Libyan soil unit, its sovereignty, and its social fabric are not the subject of bargaining.”
He continued, saying: “Today I stand before you as a representative of the will of a people still adhering to hope, believing in its ability to formulate a stable and prosperous future. Libya is not geographically for conflicts, and not a yard to liquidate accounts or export crises, but rather a homeland with natural wealth and coherent social depth, and huge youth energies that constitute the backbone of building the modern state.”
Al -Munafi said that the historical experiences in his country confirm that “our people’s ability to forgive, tolerance and fairness are historically proven. The opportunities to overcome the past and their pages are wide opportunities in Libya, and national reconciliation before it is a necessity to build a state is a national heritage that we cherish.”
Political vision of four pillars
Mr. Muhammad Al -Mennafi stressed that any solution that does not restore the political path to the Libyan people, and does not stem from its free will, is a solution that is exposed to sterile repetition and failed experiences. In this context, he presented a political vision based on four main pillars:
Firstly, Restoring full national sovereignty, and rejecting all forms of foreign interference, whatever its form or justification.
secondly, Access to a comprehensive national consensus through a sincere and comprehensive dialogue held inside Libya and under an independent national umbrella, with the participation of all active parties; Without exclusion.
Third, Standardization of sovereign institutions, led by security, defense and finance institutions, according to professional mechanisms that are not subject to polarization or quotas.
Fourth, Ending the transitional phase through a clear constitutional base, and free and transparent elections, in which the Libyans choose those who rule them for their will, without guardianship or external imposition.
70 years for Libya to join the United Nations
On the other hand, the President of the Libyan Presidential Council commemorated the seventieth anniversary of his country’s accession to the membership of the United Nations, noting that, since its birth, it has been associated with the United Nations with a historical relationship based on partnership and mutual respect.
He said that his country is looking forward to an active and integrated role from the organization in supporting it to cross from the crisis towards a sustainable path of stability and democracy.
Irregular migration
The exile touched on the issue of irregular immigration in his country, indicating that it is “It is not just a security issue, but rather a human challenge with deep economic roots.”
In this regard, he appealed to the international community to take a comprehensive development approach based on supporting infrastructure and creating job opportunities in the source countries, in partnership with the African Union, instead of narrow security approaches that have proven to be failed.
The Palestinian issue
On the Palestinian issue, the President of the Libyan Presidential Council affirmed his country’s fixed position on this issue, saying that this position “stems from our humanitarian principles, and our Arab and Islamic depth.”
In the strongest terms, he condemned the positions of some countries that he said “are still hiding behind an unethical neutral towards what the Palestinian people – especially in the Gaza Strip – are subjected to genocide and flagrant violation of international law.”
He called for a “responsible international move” that ends the occupation, and guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
