The Yemeni president calls for the formation of an international coalition to impose peace by “force”

In his speech to the general discussion of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Al -Alimi said that Yemen left “a hostage to the Iranian expansionist project, and its militias that use hunger as a weapon and religion as a tool, and marine corridors as a means of blackmail” and turned into one of the most dangerous “The hotbed of border terrorism in the world.”

He stressed that Yemen today does not represent a mere internal crisis, “It has become a test of the credibility of the international system.” He said that the neglect of many about the essence of the Yemeni crisis, “encouraged the Houthi militias to persist towards the threat of regional and international peace, targeting energy sources and then navigation corridors, leading to the kidnapping of United Nations employees, and their abuse.”

The Yemeni president considered that the past years proved that the policy of conflict management “has only brought more woes and destruction” and gave the Houthi militias the time and resources to expand their arsenal.

He added: “While the United Nations was unable to protect its kidnapped employees in Sanaa, or to protect oil installations, and marine shipping ships, it seemed clear that the desired peace could not be mastered, but rather imposed by force.”

He said that the Yemeni government is always ready to extend its hand for a comprehensive peace as long as this is in the interest of the Yemeni people, but after that “Peace conservation has failed, as it has become necessary to move collectively and decisive in order to impose peace.”

He said that the General Assembly appears to be in need to prove to its members that international law “Not just a legend,” Stressing that Yemen and Gaza are “The ethical test is … and the theater through which it is possible to confirm that the power of the right is still able to face the right of power.”

From this standpoint, Mr. Al -Alimi called for a formation “An effective international alliance to restore the security and stability of Yemen.” And rebuilding national state institutions, and liberation “The country is from the grip of militias and terrorist groups in all its forms.”

The Yemeni President also renewed his country’s full support for the Palestinian Authority and the two -state solution, and called on the rest of the countries to recognize the state of Palestine, and to align the right of its people and its dignity. At the same time, Yemen rejected the refusal of “the trafficking of the trivial militias on this just case, which only brought to Palestine isolation and ruin.”
