Adopting the participating works in the Islamic Arts Festival in Sharjah

Sharjah, October 5 / WAM / The Supreme Committee of the Islamic Arts Festival approved the artworks participating in the twenty -sixth session, which will start during the month of November, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

This came during the committee meeting yesterday at the headquarters of the Culture Department in Sharjah, headed by Mohamed Ibrahim Al -Qusayr, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the department, director of the festival and members of the Supreme Committee.

Al -Qusayr said that the new session of the festival bears a creative dimension that reflects the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in caring for the arts as a global civilized language, stressing that this session is of special importance as the festival continues to enhance its international presence by hosting a group of artists from different parts of the world.

He added that the Supreme Committee began inviting artists, noting that the works that were received were distinguished by innovative ideas that embodied the topic of the session “Siraj”, and that the selection process came according to accurate criteria that guarantee the harmony of the works with the slogan of the event.

He explained that the festival activities will be distributed over a number of prominent cultural destinations in Sharjah, including the Sharjah Arts Museum, the line square with its various facilities such as the Sharjah Museum of calligraphy, calligraphers, the symposium house, the ceramic house, the Emirates Association for Arabic Calligraphy, Islamic Decoration, and the Sharjah Center for Arabic Calligraphy and Decoration.

Khor Fakkan will also host external works that reflect the originality of this art and its presentation to the public with inspiring visions, while other sites such as House of Wisdom, the 1971 Center for designs and a number of local institutions will embrace remarkable creative works by Emirati, Arab and international artists.
