“Higher Education” launches a guide for practical training governance for university students and vocational training institutions

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched the guide for practical training governance for students of higher education institutions, including universities and vocational training institutions.
The guide constitutes an executive framework for the translation of the ministerial decision on governance of the obligations of higher education institutions in the field of practical training, and aims to ensure that the practical training experience is an integral part of the academic trip of students, linking theoretical knowledge to applied experience, and qualifies students to engage in the labor market with confidence and efficiency, and avoid any formal or inappropriate practices.
The assistant undersecretary of the Acting Higher Education and Scientific Research Regulatory and Scientific Research Sector, Taif Muhammad Al -Amiri, said: “We are keen to provide the guide to provide a clear practical vision from which all parties concerned with organizing practical training for students according to the highest standards of quality and governance. The guide provides a unified national framework for organizing practical training in higher education institutions, by identifying responsibilities and roles clearly for both academic institutions, training and students, and enhancing supervision, follow -up and evaluation mechanisms to ensure the effectiveness and quality of experience. It also provides a set of operational evidence and standard models that help universities to design high -quality training programs and influence in developing students’ skills.
According to the guide, higher education institutions are committed to preparing clear training plans, assigning qualified academic supervisors to follow up on students, evaluate their performance, and ensure their commitment to the training plans set. As for the training authorities, they are committed to providing a safe and stimulating training environment, assigning professional supervisors able to direct and guide students, and design continuous improvement mechanisms for training programs.
