The spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross, Dr. Hisham Muhanna, confirmed that the committee’s mission is to facilitate the implementation of the provisions of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip regarding prisoners and detainees.
The Red Cross spokesman said – in an intervention with the “Cairo” channel: Al-Akhbariya on Saturday – There are procedures currently being worked on to transfer Palestinian prisoners and Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need for all parties to adhere to the Gaza Agreement.
He added: The committee was not a party to the negotiations that took place between Hamas and Israel, but rather its role is to provide technical advice on how to deal with and implement the release of prisoners and detainees in a way that guarantees their security. And their human dignity, stressing the importance of the commitment of all parties to implement this matter as much as possible.
He pointed out that the International Committee is facilitating the transfer of Palestinian detainees in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the Committee’s teams are also working to bring and bring in humanitarian support represented by medical supplies, medicines, and personal hygiene tools that will be distributed in a regular manner. Immediate.
He explained that despite Israel’s recent obstruction of humanitarian support, the committee worked to direct 8 medical shipments to hospitals and intensive care centers that were still operating last Thursday, which included medical supplies and medicines used in urgent surgeries and treatment of injuries.
