Hamdan bin Mohammed visits an exhibition " Expand North Star 2025" The largest in the world for startups and investors

DUBAI, 14th October, 2018 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, today visited “Expand North Star”, the world’s largest exhibition for startups and investors, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, and hosted by the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy in “Dubai Harbour”. Its activities will continue until tomorrow, with the participation of more than 2,000 startups and more than 1,200 investors, making it the largest global platform combining innovation and venture capital.
During his visit to the exhibition, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that “Expand North Star” embodies Dubai’s position as a global center for entrepreneurship and technology and reflects its vision of building a diversified digital economy based on innovation and knowledge.

His Highness pointed out that hosting the event as part of GITEX Global’s activities confirms Dubai’s leadership in providing a flexible and stimulating business environment that supports creative ideas and attracts entrepreneurs and investors from all over the world.

His Highness said that the continued growth of the Expand North Star exhibition demonstrates the growing international confidence in Dubai, a global destination that embraces creators and innovators, and contributes to shaping the features of the future of the digital economy. He explained that the integrated system that Dubai provides of advanced digital infrastructure, flexible legislation, and strategic partnerships has made it a major platform for empowering emerging companies and supporting the journey of… Technological transformation at the regional and global levels.

His Highness added that supporting talents and entrepreneurs in the fields of advanced technology is an investment in the future of the national economy, and an engine for achieving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), while global initiatives and events such as (Expand North Star) strengthen Dubai’s position as a global bridge linking ideas and capital, and contribute to establishing a sustainable economy led by innovation and knowledge and based on the energies and creativity of youth.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured the exhibition pavilions, during which he was briefed on the global participation in the event, and the solutions and technologies offered by specialized companies in the field of innovation, investment and future industry, which contribute to building digital business systems and developing the technological infrastructure that allows emerging companies to grow, prosper and develop, in the presence of His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, His Excellency Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Science and Advanced Technology, and Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy.
His Highness’s tour began at the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy pavilion, where he reviewed the matching services between investors and entrepreneurs and the startup community development programs hosted by the Chamber as part of its pivotal role in consolidating Dubai’s position as the capital of the digital economy.
His Highness visited the Serbia pavilion participating in the “Expand North Star” activities within a special pavilion organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighting the most prominent digital innovations and projects that reflect the development of its technical system and its leadership in the field of artificial intelligence.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inspected the platform of the Emirati company “SpacePoint”, which is participating in the exhibition as a living example of Emirati innovation in the field of space science, after its participation in the Innovation Accelerator program of the Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund, and His Highness learned about the satellite launch technologies that the company is offering.
His Highness’s tour at the Expand North Star 2025 exhibition included a visit to the Ecuador Pavilion, where he followed an explanation about the projects presented by companies specialized in the fields of technology and entrepreneurship and the investment opportunities that Ecuador offers to international companies and investors.
His Highness visited the platform of the Emirati companies “Secure Y71” and the “Nabibk” company, in addition to the “HealthTech” pavilion, which includes companies specialized in medical innovation and health technologies, which display the latest digital solutions and smart applications in the fields of health care, medical artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and early diagnosis.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum concluded his visit to the Expand North Star exhibition by visiting the India pavilion, which is participating in the global event with a remarkable presence, with the participation of 211 emerging companies, whose fields range from artificial intelligence, data centers, cybersecurity, semiconductors, and other technological innovations.
