The United States grants a temporary license to countries to buy Russian oil stuck in the sea

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent announced that the department has issued a temporary license allowing countries to purchase Russian oil currently stuck at sea, in a move aimed at increasing the scope of global supplies of oil.
The US Treasury Department website indicated that the US license allows the sale of crude oil and petroleum products from Russia that were loaded on ships, starting from March 12, 2026, until 12:01 AM EST on April 11, 2026.
