136 thousand Emirati tourists visit Thailand during 9 months of this year

The number of Emirati tourists to Thailand reached more than 136,000 during the period between January and September of this year, according to data issued by the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, a decline of about 2% compared to the same period last year.

Emirati tourists constituted 23.5% of the total number of tourists from the Middle East region as a whole, amounting to 577 thousand tourists during the first nine months of this year, according to the ministry’s data, a copy of which was obtained by Emirates Today.

During the period between January and September 2025, tourist flow rates reached their highest level in July, with Thailand receiving about 38,000 tourists in conjunction with the summer vacation, followed by August with about 29,000 tourists, and June with about 16,000.

Over the past year, Thailand received 170,000 Emirati visitors, who constituted 23% of the total number of tourists from the Middle East, which numbered about 742,000 tourists.

The average number of days for a single visitor from the UAE market was about 11 days during the past year, with an average spending of $178 (about 653 dirhams) per day, while the average tourist revenues from the UAE market reached $339 million (about 1.24 billion dirhams).

The UAE market came in second place as the largest market exporting tourists to Thailand, after Saudi Arabia, which came first with more than 228,000 tourists during the past year as a whole in the Middle East region.

Seat capacity on flights between the UAE and Thailand reached more than 2.2 million seats last year, according to OAG, the international provider of airport and airline data. Emirati airlines operate dozens of flights weekly, with Emirates Airlines alone operating five flights daily to Bangkok, with an average of 35 weekly flights, in addition to two daily flights to Phuket, with an average of 14 weekly flights. In the past two years, airlines have also begun operating flights to new destinations including Krabi and Pattaya.
