Sharjah Charity participates in preparing "Emirati relief ship "10 to Gaza
Sharjah, 19 October / WAM / The Sharjah Charitable Society participated in preparing the contents of the “Emirati Relief Ship” that sailed the day before yesterday, heading to the Gaza Strip as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 3”, which reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to humanitarian and charitable work at the local and international levels.
Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, confirmed that the tenth ship included contributions from the Society’s donors, which represented 10,000 food parcels to secure the basic needs of families and 1,000 health parcels containing care and hygiene supplies, in addition to 15,000 pieces of heavy winter clothing for children and the elderly.
He added that the ship comes as an extension of the first phase of the campaign that was launched from Sharjah International Airport, carrying various winter supplies, stressing the association’s keenness to intensify its efforts to cover the largest possible number of families in need, as part of the efforts made by the UAE to provide humanitarian support to the Palestinian people.
He explained that the amount of support provided by the association since the beginning of the crisis amounted to 10 million dirhams, which included food and medical supplies and urgent needs for affected families, which reflects the extent of its commitment to responding quickly to urgent humanitarian needs inside and outside the sector.
Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi stressed that Emirati charities are constantly working to enhance the culture of humanitarian and societal responsibility through comprehensive initiatives covering various aspects of food, health and social support for those in need at home and abroad, expressing the association’s keenness to raise the level of coordination with its partners in the humanitarian field to ensure that aid reaches those who need it efficiently and quickly.
