The Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Festival honors young Emirati talent

Dubai, October 20 / WAM / The inaugural edition of the “Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Festival” today announced the winners of the first places in the national competition, in a move that reflects the country’s commitment to enhancing its digital flexibility and empowering its national competencies in the fields of cybersecurity and advanced technologies.

Participants competed in developing innovative cybersecurity solutions supported by artificial intelligence technologies within two main tracks: “Artificial Intelligence in Review, Audit, and Compliance” and “Information Security Analyst Powered by Artificial Intelligence,” while three final teams presented their projects before a specialized jury.

The closing day of the festival, which was held within the activities of the GITEX Global 2025 exhibition, witnessed the presentation of the final projects participating in the national competition, in addition to an awards ceremony that honored an elite group of young Emirati talents in the field of cybersecurity, amid a distinguished attendance that included more than 80 students from 17 universities across the country, along with a number of experts, innovators and decision makers in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council, stressed: “The progress we have witnessed has been remarkable and inspiring, and each participant has added real value to our journey towards enhancing the security of the national digital space.”
Addressing the winners, he added that, in light of the rapid development of modern technologies and the growing cyber challenges, your efforts represent the first line of defense that we rely on to protect our digital system. We also appreciate your commitment and look forward to seeing more innovations in the future.
For his part, Ahmed Al Zarouni, CEO of Tech-Firm and founder of the Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Festival, said that the quality of the projects presented reflected the spirit of innovation and ambition among the students, and it is inspiring to see a young generation possessing this advanced pioneering thought capable of contributing to shaping the future of cybersecurity in the UAE.
The jury announced the results of the competition as follows: First place: No Time Team – Abu Dhabi 42 Academy, second place: Zenith Team – Abu Dhabi University, and third place: Unity Team – Heriot-Watt University Dubai.
The Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Festival event has established its position as a leading national platform that works to enable Emirati talent to lead the next wave of innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
This initiative comes in line with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which aim to enhance the country’s digital readiness, develop the capabilities of national competencies, and consolidate the UAE’s position as a global leader in building a safe and sustainable digital system.
