An Omani educational delegation visits the Medical University of Bahrain to enhance academic cooperation

A delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman made an official visit to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) Medical University of Bahrain, within the framework of existing cooperation between the two institutions, and the Ministry’s keenness to follow up on the academic development of Omani students and provide services that support their university career.

The delegation was headed by Mr. Hassan Al Zaabi, Assistant Director of the Licensing and Program Supervision Department, and included Mr. Yousef Al Shabibi and Mr. Mishal Al Hinai, from the Scholarship Affairs Department. The delegation was received by Professor Samir Al-Otoum, President of the Medical University of Bahrain, along with Mr. Stephen Harrison Mirfield, Administrative Director of the University, and a number of members of the academic and administrative staff.

This visit came in the wake of the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of higher education and scholarships between the Medical University of Bahrain and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, which aims to sponsor an elite group of distinguished Omani students to enroll in the university’s medical programs, as part of a strategic partnership to prepare and qualify the next generation of medical leaders in the Sultanate of Oman.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the university’s most prominent developments, including academic developments and the implementation stages of the new university building, which aims to support students’ educational experience. An open meeting was also held with Omani students to listen to their opinions and suggestions regarding study programs and university services. The visit concluded with a field tour of the student housing facilities designated for students on scholarship from the Sultanate of Oman.

The number of Omani students currently registered at the Bahrain Medical University is 28 male and female students, which reflects the growing confidence in the academic programs offered by the university, and its keenness to support the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in preparing and qualifying national competencies capable of contributing to the development of the health care sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

In this context, Professor Al-Atoum expressed his pride in this visit, saying: “We were honored to receive the honorable Omani delegation at the Medical University of Bahrain, within the framework of the strategic partnership that brings us together with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation. This cooperation translates our joint commitment to raising the level of medical education and preparing a generation of distinguished doctors who are able to contribute to serving their communities and enhancing the quality of care.” “health.”

For his part, Mr. Al Zaabi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, praising the university’s advanced infrastructure and stimulating academic environment, stressing that continued cooperation with the Bahrain Medical University contributes to achieving the vision of the Sultanate of Oman in developing higher education and excellence in the fields of medicine and health sciences.
