Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence organizes an event "Build It Demo Day"

Abu Dhabi, 22 October / WAM / The Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence announced the organization of the “Build It Demo Day” event – a platform dedicated to developers and innovators to showcase working artificial intelligence solutions to the innovation ecosystem in the UAE.

Unlike traditional events that focus on presentations, Build It is all about showcasing the actual products and prototypes in development.

Conditions for participation in the event include that participants submit what they are proud to have created, have AI at its core (be it a model, intelligent agent, or workflow), and submit the project in the form of a product under development such as a prototype or short video.

The first Build It Demo Day is scheduled to take place on October 30, 2025 at Masdar City Park.

Participation is now open on an ongoing basis to university students, entrepreneurs and professionals working on developing AI-based products.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to join a network of prominent local and international organizations along with a comprehensive package of technical credits to support their upcoming journey, including an OpenAI credit worth up to $2,000, an Nvidia credit worth up to $120,000, an AWS credit worth up to $25,000, an ElevenLabs credit worth up to $50,000, and a HuggingFace credit worth up to Up to $2,000, up to $50,000 PostHog credit, $5,000 Microsoft Azure credit, and 90% off HubSpot.

Haochen Sun, Acting Head of the Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre, said: “About 25% of our students have a startup idea under development, while other developers across Abu Dhabi are working on their own innovations.” However, there was no platform to gather these talents to showcase their work in its early stages, and hence the “Build It Demo Day” event came to be this platform.

He added: “We brought together leading global companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, AWS, ElevenLabs, and others, which provided support exceeding $200,000 in technical usage credits, out of their belief in the ability of innovators to transform initial experiences into viable ideas, and ideas into startup companies.”

Programs at MBZUAI, including entrepreneurship workshops and the grantmaking initiative, have produced more than 250 startup pitches and provided more than 400 hours of mentorship and training from leaders from global companies such as OpenAI and Microsoft.

Since its launch in 2023, the center has supported the establishment of 14 startups operating with artificial intelligence in Abu Dhabi, contributed to attracting large foreign investments, and building a thriving entrepreneurial community that includes more than 2,000 members.
