Dubai Chambers discusses trade and investment opportunities with mayors of 14 international cities

Dubai, October 28 / WAM / Dubai Chambers organized a discussion with 14 mayors and officials of international cities; To discuss trade and investment opportunities, as part of the activities of the Asia-Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors Forum 2025, which began yesterday in Expo City Dubai, and concludes tomorrow, Wednesday.

Participating in the discussion were His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, and mayors and officials from 14 cities and administrative regions around the world, which included North Miami in the United States of America, Athens in Greece, as well as the city of Bilbao in Spain, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yerevan in Armenia, Nicosia in Cyprus, Kampala in Uganda, Surat in India, and Paris in France, in addition to Accra in Ghana, Casablanca in Morocco, Baghdad in Iraq, and Beirut and Mount Lebanon in Lebanon.
Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, said that Dubai provides a model to be followed in aligning economic plans and projects with urban development, and that every stage of the emirate’s expansion, from ports to airports, and from logistics areas to digital infrastructure and public services, has formed integrated pillars linking investment in infrastructure, stimulating the growth of foreign trade, and attracting foreign direct investment in a manner consistent with… Targets of the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33”.
He added that the close trade relations that Dubai has built with countries around the world contribute to shaping the urban features of the emirate. Its successes in all fields have proven that harmony between trade, planning and innovation accelerates the pace of urban growth, attracts more investments, and consolidates the elements of economic diversity and flexibility.
He explained that the development process in Dubai depends on partnerships. Joint work with the local private sector and developing international cooperation plays a pivotal role in advancing development, stressing Dubai Chambers’ commitment to contributing to the development of economic policies and legislation and empowering the business community to enhance competitiveness and enable a business environment supportive of sustainable growth.
The participants discussed the role of strategic partnerships in creating new and innovative paths for city growth, attracting investments and human skills, and stimulating cooperation to adopt trade-based city development plans. Executive tools and strategies were also discussed to integrate commercial priorities into urban development plans to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
The discussion topics touched on the importance of developing the physical and digital infrastructure of cities in attracting investments, creating jobs and attracting talents, and the contribution of technology and data to improving logistics services and enhancing connectivity, in addition to exploring ways to activate the contribution of trade in stimulating urban and economic growth in a sustainable and comprehensive manner, in addition to the importance of strengthening cooperation between cities, international bodies and the private sector to develop joint development solutions.
