The escape of the domestic help spoils this artist’s birthday celebration! (video)

Moaz Al-Omari, husband of Jordanian artist Diana Karazon, narrated the details of the incident that his family was exposed to during their tourist trip to Greece, when their domestic help surprised them by running away after more than four years of working with them, coinciding with their celebration of Diana’s birthday.

Al-Omari explained in a video clip on Instagram that the worker only took her phone, jacket, and clothes, and did not steal anything from the house, noting that she was an example of honesty and kindness throughout her work, but her behavior confused the family and caused great inconvenience, especially since she was under his legal responsibility while traveling.

Al-Omari indicated that he immediately filed a report with the police, and contacted the Jordanian Embassy in Athens, which responded quickly and provided support, praising the efforts of the Jordanian Consul, Issa Al-Hijazin, and the employees, Ziad Al-Moumani and Youssef, in following up the case on the ground. Al-Omari was also able to locate the worker through an electronic application for family devices, which helped the authorities reach her and complete the official procedures.

Al-Omari concluded his message by warning families traveling with domestic helpers to European countries, stressing that some of them may think of escaping despite good treatment, as a result of temptations to seek asylum or external influences. (Fuchsia)
