I am not thinking of launching attacks on Venezuela

US President Donald Trump denied on Friday that he was considering launching attacks on Venezuela, even in light of reports that Washington may expand its anti-drug campaign in the Caribbean.

The United States has strengthened its military presence in the Caribbean region over the past few months by deploying fighter planes, warships, and thousands of soldiers. The arrival of the Gerald Ford Carrier Strike Group would significantly enhance this presence in the coming weeks.

In the past few weeks, Trump has publicly indicated that his administration will carry out attacks on drug-related targets inside Venezuela.

But when reporters asked him on Friday on Air Force One about the accuracy of media reports that he was considering launching strikes inside Venezuela, Trump responded, saying, “No.”
