The United Nations confirms its commitment to supporting Iraq in the electoral process

The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Muhammad Al-Hassan, affirmed today, Sunday, the commitment to continue supporting Iraq in the paths of the electoral process and enhancing political and economic stability.

 

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency “INA” The Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, received, in his office in the capital, Baghdad, Muhammad Al-Hassan, where they discussed developments in the regional and international situation and their repercussions on Iraq and the region, in addition to discussing the ongoing preparations for holding the elections scheduled to be held during this month.

The statement added that the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the United Nations in various files of common interest, in a way that contributes to supporting stability and sustainable development efforts in the country.
