Air traffic was temporarily halted at Bremen Airport after a drone was spotted


Air traffic was temporarily halted at Bremen Airport on Sunday evening, after an unidentified drone was detected flying near it, according to German police.
A police spokesman in the city in northern Germany said: "The plane was spotted "Right next to the airport around 7.30pm".
He added that the monitoring body Air Traffic decided as a result, in agreement with the Federal Police, to suspend Take-off and landing operationsimmediately.

and Navigation trafficabout an hour later, but it is not known how many flights were canceled or diverted due to the inability to contact the airport immediately.
The police indicated that it was not clear who was controlling this plane. On Friday evening, flights were suspended for approximately two hours at Berlin Airport as well due to the detection of drone flights.

In early October, Munich Airport – the second busiest airport in Germany – was forced to suspend its operations for several hours for the same reason. German authorities have repeatedly warned of the increasing threat posed by drones, following a series of incursions by unidentified aircraft into the airspace of sensitive airports and military sites this year.
