The European Film Festival kicks off in Riyadh with the participation of 15 films

It was launched this evening in the capital Riyadh, activities of the fourth session of the European Film Festival, organized by the The European Unionto the Kingdom in cooperation with the embassies of member states, and a company "Arab Moving Pictures"and"Fox Cinema"supported by the FilmsSaudi Arabia, during the period from (3 to 11) this November.
The festival will screen (15) European films representing (15) countries from various parts of the continent, in a panorama that highlights the diversity of European cinematic creativity and its artistic traditions, as the session opens with the Oscar-winning Latvian film (Flow).
Enriched viewing
The organizers were keen to present all screenings with subtitles into The Arabic and English languages provide a rich and accessible viewing experience for the local audience.
The European Union Ambassador to the Kingdom, Christophe Varno, expressed his happiness at the continued development of the festival, saying: "Four years after its launch, the festival has become a fixed stop on the Saudi cultural calendar, and a vital bridge of cooperation between the European Union and the Kingdom, celebrating the heritage of the European narrative in parallel with the Kingdom’s rise as a global creative force."
A distinguished group
The founder of the company confirmed "Arab Moving Pictures" Abdul Ilah Al-Ahmari expressed his pride in organizing the fourth session of the festival, noting that the current edition presents a distinguished group of European cinematic productions, enriched by meetings with special guests and free specialized seminars for the public.
The program includes screenings of international award-winning films, and interactive seminars that bring together filmmakers from Europe and the Kingdom, with the participation of a number of prominent names such as visual effects director Martens Opits, who contributed to the Latvian film (FLOW) winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Film of the Year. 2025, and Norwegian director Kaisa Nasse, director of the film (Titina), along with an elite group of Saudi artists.
