Dubai Police expands the scope of use of “noise radars”

Dubai Police announced the expansion of the scope of operation of “noise radars” in various regions of the emirate, with the aim of reducing the annoying sounds issued by some vehicles and motorcycles that cause inconvenience to Dubai residents and visitors.
Dubai Police confirmed that the project comes in support of the directives of the wise leadership aimed at making Dubai the most peaceful and civilized city in the world, noting that the next phase will witness a gradual increase in the number of radars to cover various parts of Dubai.
She pointed out that this step comes within the outcomes of the Steering Committee to preserve the civilized appearance of the city of Dubai, as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of life and public tranquility in the emirate.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, explained that Dubai Police recently began using these radars, as part of the system of smart technologies it adopts in traffic management, and they have proven their efficiency in monitoring vehicles that have been modified or violate environmental standards. He pointed out that these devices are capable of measuring the noise level of vehicles equipped with them, determining their source with high accuracy, and documenting the violation with video whenever it exceeds permissible limits, in addition to monitoring vehicles that use a horn without necessity. Monitoring the noise generated by vehicle audio devices.
He explained that the violations monitored by radars include vehicles equipped with components that emit loud noise, or resulting from recording devices, or using a horn unnecessarily, noting that the value of the violation reaches 2,000 dirhams with 12 black points recorded, while the fees for releasing the seizure amount to 10,000 dirhams.
He stressed that the goal of implementing these regulations is not to issue violations, but rather to educate drivers about the importance of adhering to the rules of civilized behavior on the roads, stressing that maintaining calm is a societal responsibility that contributes to enhancing the comfort of residents and visitors, and supports the emirate’s efforts to achieve the standards of civilized and upscale cities.
Major General Saif Al Mazrouei stressed that Dubai Police will continue to monitor and monitor nuisance vehicles through traffic patrols and smart systems, in addition to implementing expanded awareness campaigns to inform the public of the dangers of noise and its impact on public health and community safety.

The formation of the committee came based on the directives of His Highness that Dubai be the best, most beautiful, most sophisticated and civilized city in the world, as His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, issued on September 26 last a decision to form the committee as an integrated system concerned with preserving, measuring and developing the unique cultural experience in Dubai, in a way that reflects the highest forms of sophistication of life in the city, and enhances the standards of life. Urbanization, commitment, and civilized behaviors, to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global model in its cleanliness, order, beauty, and respect for humans, ensuring the sustainability of its global leadership and consecrating its position as the most beautiful, finest, and most civilized cities in the world.
