Lebanon closes schools and evacuates public places in anticipation of an Israeli strike

On Monday, Lebanon closed schools and evacuated public places in anticipation of an imminent Israeli strike on the south of the country.

The town of Aitaroun in the south said in a press statement today: “Our esteemed people ask you to be careful and vigilant, after receiving information about the enemy’s intention to carry out a targeting operation against a local target, as he claimed, in the town of Aitaroun, whose location is unknown at the moment.”

She added, “The mechanism informed the army, which in turn informed the municipality of an imminent strike on Aitaroun, without specifying the form and location of the strike,” noting that schools were closed, students were returned to their homes, and public places were evacuated as a precaution.
