The Dubai Metro is decorated with pictures of Zayed and Rashid to celebrate the National Month celebrations in Dubai

In a new initiative within the activities of the “Zayed and Rashid” campaign, organized by “Brand Dubai”, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, and in a festive atmosphere that expresses feelings of pride and national belonging, the Dubai Metro is decorated with pictures of the founding leaders, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God bless them both, and verses from the poem “The Leading People” from the poetry of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “May God protect him,” written by His Highness in celebration of their immortal journey and legacy that established the renaissance and unity of the UAE.

The initiative, in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, extends along the Red Line of the Dubai Metro from the Center Point station to the Expo Dubai station, forming a daily symbolic greeting seen by thousands of passengers, residents and visitors, and embodying the great position that the two founders hold in the conscience of the people of the Emirates, and their role in building a nation that has become a global model in development and innovation.

On this occasion, Brand Dubai Director Shaima Al Suwaidi said: “This creative work is part of a series of initiatives for the #Zaydorashid campaign organized by Brand Dubai for the second year in a row, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, to celebrate the memory of the two founding leaders, and in appreciation of their legacy that continues to inspire new generations in the UAE.”

Al Suwaidi added: “We chose the Dubai Metro, one of the most prominent symbols of modernity and sustainability in the city, to be a platform to celebrate the values ​​of union and joint work that Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid embodied since their first meeting, which established a national process that has become a model to be emulated in the world.” She expressed her gratitude for the cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority as a main partner in this initiative, which expresses the depth of harmony between the symbols of national identity and the modern urban landscape of the city of Dubai.

For her part, Director of the Marketing and Communications Department at the Roads and Transport Authority, Fatima Al Khamiri, said: “This initiative comes in line with the authority’s vision of enhancing national identity through the public transport system that serves millions of passengers annually. She stressed that the Dubai Metro, which connects the city’s landmarks and its vital communities, has become an interactive platform to highlight national values and enhance belonging, noting that decorating the metro cars reflects the authority’s keenness to introduce Dubai’s visitors and residents, as well as the next generation of our children. “With the founding leaders who dedicated themselves to serving the nation.”

The initiative to decorate Dubai Metro carriages is part of a series of creative works carried out by Brand Dubai as part of the National Month celebrations in Dubai, which includes the “Flag Park” on Umm Suqeim Beach, and the “Creative Work on the Dubai International Financial Center Gate,” in addition to other activities extending throughout the month of November until the second of next December.
