Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed witnesses the opening of the Emirates Hospital

On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and in the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation, witnessed the opening of the “Emirates – Indonesia Cardiac Hospital”, the first station of the “Emirates Global Hospitals Program”, in implementation of the directives of His Excellency His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, has established 10 specialized hospitals in various countries of the world, with funding amounting to about 550 million dirhams over 10 years, to meet the specialized health needs of needy communities.

The new hospital includes 135 beds, and its cost is more than 91 million dirhams. It is dedicated to treating heart diseases, which constitute one of the most prominent causes of death in Indonesia, embodying a humanitarian response to the scale of health challenges in Indonesia, as 6.8 million people from various Indonesian regions benefit from it.

The Indonesian President, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, inspected the hospital’s wards, where they were briefed on the advanced health facilities it provides. During the tour, they learned about the latest medical technologies used in diagnosing and treating heart diseases, and the integrated services provided by the hospital in accordance with the highest international standards.

They listened to an explanation from the medical team about the hospital’s readiness to receive critical cases and provide specialized care to patients of different age groups.

On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the opening of the hospital constitutes an important step in the process of cooperation and partnership between the UAE and Indonesia, noting that the project represents a model of the tangible impact that cooperation can achieve in improving the quality of life for communities.

His Highness pointed out that the “Emirates Global Hospitals Programme” dedicates the UAE’s role in supporting global health issues, and embodies its firm commitment to humanitarian work and international cooperation, to ensure that communities in need have access to the necessary health infrastructure, which opens new horizons for the advancement of the health sector in countries that are less able to face specialized medical challenges.

The hospital includes facilities equipped with the latest medical technologies, including hybrid catheterization laboratories, smart operating rooms, diagnostic systems compatible with artificial intelligence applications, a cardiac catheterization laboratory, an MRI machine, a computed tomography machine, a hybrid operating room, in addition to emergency services and outpatient clinics.

The opening of the “Emirates-Indonesia Cardiac Hospital” consolidates the UAE’s leadership in the field of humanitarian and sustainable development work, and falls within the framework of the global initiatives of the “Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation,” and reflects the UAE’s vision of supporting health and social development through sustainable solutions that serve needy communities in the world. It combines medical innovation, environmental design and social impact, and is characterized by a sustainable design that includes the exploitation of solar energy, rainwater, and the use of environmentally friendly materials.

The opening of the hospital in Solo Techno Park in the city of Surakarta in Central Java represents a major step to enhance advanced health services in Indonesia, and expand the scope of benefit from specialized treatments, which reflects positively on patients’ health and their opportunities to obtain appropriate care, within the framework of a development partnership that reflects the vision of the UAE in supporting and empowering communities.

The hospital contributes to providing job opportunities, stimulating the local economy, and enhancing the quality of life in the Central Java region, thus constituting a major engine for community development in addition to the necessary health care, and is a solution to address the problem of the lack of specialized medical facilities and health infrastructure in rural and remote areas.

The opening ceremony was attended by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Saif Mohammed Al Hajri, Advisor to the Vice President of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Siti Hidyatihariyadi (Titik Suharto), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health, and Dr. Nasruddin Omar, Minister of Social Affairs. Religious Affairs, Sugiono, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of the State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, and a number of officials.
