Egypt stresses the necessity of forming a joint Arab force to protect the capabilities of the countries of the region

Egypt stressed on Sunday the necessity of forming a joint Arab force to ensure the preservation of Arab national security, protect the capabilities of the countries of the region from any future threats, and provide a sustainable environment for stability.

This came in a phone call that took place today between the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel-Ati, and the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Al-Safadi, to consult and coordinate positions regarding the dangerous military escalation taking place in the region, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

During the call, Minister Abdel Aty affirmed Egypt’s categorical condemnation of the attacks targeting the security and stability of Arab countries, stressing the complete rejection of any pretexts to justify these violations that violate the rules of international law and threaten to push the entire region towards comprehensive chaos.

The two sides stressed the need to immediately stop the current war and escalating military operations, warning of the disastrous repercussions of the continuation of the escalation approach. Minister Abdel-Aty stressed that giving priority to the diplomatic track and the language of dialogue represents the only option to contain the current crisis and spare the peoples of the region from the scourge of prolonged conflict.

The call touched on future arrangements in the region, as Minister Abdel Ati stressed the utmost importance of crystallizing a clear vision for the regional and security arrangements after the end of the war, noting the necessity of activating joint Arab action frameworks and developing effective security mechanisms, most notably the formation of the joint Arab force, to ensure the preservation of Arab national security, protect the capabilities of the countries of the region from any future threats, and provide a sustainable environment for stability.

At the conclusion of the call, the two ministers agreed to continue channels of close and continuous consultation and coordination between Cairo and Amman, within the framework of Arab efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.
