Deploying 500 additional soldiers
Announced US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, that President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 500 additional troops from The National Guard in Washington following a shooting incident at two National Guard members near the White House.
Hegseth said, in statements to reporters commenting on the incident: "Trump asked him to communicate with the Secretary of the Army to make the decision to send National Guard reinforcements to the capital"
He pointed out that the goal is to support security measures and maintain stability.
He said: "The shooting incident strengthens our resolve to ensure the security of Washington, D.C., and we will pursue terrorists everywhere to eliminate them"
The decision would raise the number of National Guard members deployed in the American capital to more than 2,500.
