Mina Zayed hosts the final of the season "CellGP 2025 "

Abu Dhabi, 27 November / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Sports Council is organizing the final of the “Sail GP 2025” season, where Mina Zayed, opposite the Abu Dhabi Corniche, will host the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Sailing Competitions, on the 29 and 30 of November, with the participation of 12 national teams from various countries of the world aboard “Sail GP” sailing boats that reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
Abu Dhabi represents the 12th stop in the series of the fifth season of “SaleGB”, which included stations in Dubai, Auckland, Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Portsmouth, Sassnitz, Saint-Tropez, Geneva, and Cadiz.
The race uses high-performance F50 Catamaran sailing boats, which reach speeds of about 100 kilometers per hour, and is led by 12 national teams from Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Britain, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States of America to compete for victory in the grand final.
The introductory press conference for the championship was held at Surf Abu Dhabi on Al Hudayriat Island, in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Director of International Events at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Assistant Secretary General at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Russell Coates, CEO of the Seal GB Racing Series, Omaima Abu Bakr, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Mubadala, and a number of media representatives, in addition to Martin Grell. Captain of Mubadala Team Brazil, Phil Robertson captain of Team Canada Northstar, Eric Hale captain of Team Germany Deutsche Bank, Taylor Canfield captain of Team USA, Diego Botin captain of Team Los Gallos Spain, Dylan Fletcher captain of Team Emirates Britain, Peter Burling captain of Team New Zealand Black Foils, and Tom Silingse captain of Team Australia Bonds Flying.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said at the press conference: “We are pleased that Abu Dhabi will host the final of the ‘SEAL GP’ season on November 29 and 30 at Mina Zayed, coinciding with the celebrations of the 54th Federation Day, at a time when Abu Dhabi represents the final stop of the fifth season of the prestigious world championship, which reflects its status as a global sports destination and the diversity of its distinguished infrastructure.”
On the first day of the races, the 12 teams will compete in competitive matches to determine the final positions in the overall standings.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the best 3 teams from these confrontations qualify for the decisive final race, with a team winning first place receiving a financial prize of 2 million US dollars, while the others leave after a long season of challenge and competition.
