The President directs seven mosques in Abu Dhabi to be named after the emirates

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, directed that seven mosques in Abu Dhabi be named after the emirates, coinciding with the celebrations of the 54th Federation Day of the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Darai, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, praised the initiative of His Highness the President of the State, which expresses His Highness’s interest in consolidating the values ​​of the Union and its lofty meanings in the souls of generations so that they may continue the path of giving and development for this blessed country.

Al-Darai said that, based on the directives of His Highness, seven mosques in Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, which can accommodate about 6,000 worshipers, will be named after the Emirates of the State. They were established in coordination and cooperation between the Presidential Office, the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, on an area of approximately 12,000 thousand square metres, with all of them being available to receive worshipers in January next year, indicating that consideration was taken in It was built and designed in a modern architectural style that combines Islamic arts, heritage and innovative modern design.

He praised the continued support given by His Highness the President of the State to the Authority and its initiatives, and his keenness to build the houses of God on the one hand, and keep pace with urban development and enable worshipers to perform their prayers with reassurance and consolidate the mosque’s community message on the other hand.
