The United Nations expresses its concern about Israel’s continued violations of the disengagement agreement in Syria

United Nations spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, expressed his deep concern about Israel’s continued violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, including ceasefire violations, and the continued presence and activities of the Israeli army in the separation zone, in violation of Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

 

According to the United Nations Information Center, “Dujarric” said, Residents of the eastern side of the Golan continue their protest in front of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF). On the presence of the Israeli army and its actions there.

 

He explained that the UN force continues to engage with the Israeli army to address these concerns. The force also maintains regular contact with local leaders in the region.

 

The United Nations called on the parties to fulfill their obligations under the agreement, including ending all forms of unauthorized presence in the separation and arms control zones.

 

It stressed the need for there to be no forces or military activities in the separation zone other than UNDOF forces, stressing its commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria.
