The Gulf Cooperation Council renews and affirms the Moroccanity of the Sahara

The Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, at the conclusion of its forty-sixth session held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, reaffirmed the Moroccanity of the Sahara and supported the autonomy initiative to resolve the Moroccan Sahara issue.
In its final statement, the Council welcomed UN Security Council Resolution No. 2797, issued on October 31, 2025, adopting this initiative as an important step towards reaching a realistic and workable solution.
The Council also praised the King’s decision. The Moroccan King Mohammed VI presented this initiative to the Security Council and made October 31 of each year a national holiday under the name “Unity Day.”
This position, according to observers, comes in line with the steadfast and firm support of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of the Moroccan monarch, and for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory.
