Abu Dhabi Financial Week/a global platform for financial and business leaders

ABU DHABI, December 6, 2017 – Abu Dhabi Financial Week continues to consolidate its presence as one of the most important and influential global economic events, as it is a comprehensive platform for financial and business leaders and decision makers, and an international space for concluding quality deals, launching strategic initiatives, and anticipating the future of the global financial sector.
The event is progressing, thanks to increasing momentum through successive editions, to become a global focal point that supports Abu Dhabi’s position as a capital city, an inspiring financial center, and a destination for major investors and global institutions that manage trillions of dollars.
The fourth edition of Abu Dhabi Financial Week will begin on December 8, 2025, in its new location in the “Grand Steps – Al Maryah Island” area, to accommodate the rapid growth in the volume of international participation. This edition attracts an exceptional group of leaders, CEOs, chairmen of boards of directors, and presidents and founders of companies who manage assets worth more than $62 trillion around the world, equivalent to more than half of the global gross domestic product, in a program that includes more than 60 events, more than 300 sessions, and 800 international speakers, enhancing the event’s role as a leading international platform for shaping financial sector trends and formulating shared visions about global economic transformations.
Mohammed Al Muhairi, the official spokesman for Abu Dhabi Financial Week 2025, said that the event confirms the leading position enjoyed by Abu Dhabi Global (ADGM) and the entire Abu Dhabi economic system. It is an international platform that reflects our vision of building an advanced, renewable financial system capable of leading the next wave of innovation.
He added in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM: “We look forward to receiving an elite group of the most prominent leaders and experts from around the world, as part of a program that includes more than 60 events, more than 300 sessions, and 800 international speakers. We are confident that the next edition will continue to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as the “capital of capital” and a major driver of the Falcon economy and two-way capital flows, in a way that supports the prosperity of the financial services sector regionally and globally.”
The remarkable development achieved by the event represents an extension of a path that began in November 2022 when the Abu Dhabi Global Market, in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, launched the inaugural edition between November 14 and 18, with the aim of strengthening the emirate’s position as a world-class financial center.
This edition included 12 specialized events that discussed the areas of financial technology, innovation, startups, project financing, asset management and capital markets, in addition to sessions on environmental and societal issues and international regulatory policies.
The first Abu Dhabi Financial Week also witnessed the launch of an expanded version of “FinTech Abu Dhabi”. The activities of the first edition included the Abu Dhabi Cryptocurrency Forum, the Start-up Camp, and the Sustainability Symposium, in addition to the “Abu Dhabi Assets” forum, which hosted about 300 investors from more than 30 countries who then collectively owned more than $4 billion in assets under management.
The second session came in December 2023, announcing that Abu Dhabi Financial Week had entered a different stage of global spread. It attracted more than 18,000 participants, double the number of participants in the first edition, including more than 3,500 heads of financial institutions, investors and policy makers from more than 100 countries.
The activities were divided into 46 sub-events and 180 dialogue sessions, in which more than 300 international speakers participated, including names of major international influence and heads of prestigious institutions, including, for example, “JP Morgan,” “Bridgewater,” “Franklin Templeton,” “Goldman Sachs,” and many others.
By December 2024, the third session of Abu Dhabi Financial Week has established itself as one of the largest financial platforms in the world, attracting more than 20,000 participants from leaders, experts and decision-makers from global financial institutions that collectively manage more than $42.5 trillion in assets.
The 2024 edition was marked by the signing of 44 memorandums of understanding, including 16 prominent agreements that included the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and the Abu Dhabi Global Academy.
The agenda also included more than 350 presentations and discussion sessions within more than 60 strategic events and conferences, and included new events such as the UBS Investment Forum, the Islamic Finance Summit, the Spurs Summit: Private Wealth Forum, and the Capital Markets Conference in Abu Dhabi.
The 2024 edition also celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the launch of UAE-Chinese diplomatic relations, by hosting the inaugural edition of the UAE-China Investment Forum in partnership with HSBC Bank.
The significant development between the 2022 and 2024 editions highlights the extent of the transformation that Abu Dhabi Financial Week has witnessed in a short period, forming a comprehensive global event that brings together institutions that manage trillions of dollars and constitutes a platform for shaping the future of the financial sector.
