The Global Council for Tolerance discusses efforts to spread peace values in Somalia and signs two cooperation agreements with Parliament

Mogadishu, 6 December / WAM / His Excellency Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, praised the pioneering role of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace at the regional and international levels, especially on the African continent, stressing the importance of the initiatives led by the Council in supporting dialogue and coexistence, empowering women, and promoting sustainable development projects.
This came during his meeting with His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, in the capital, Mogadishu, where during the meeting they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and support efforts aimed at spreading the values of tolerance and peace and consolidating stability and development in the region and the world.
The delegation accompanying His Excellency Al-Jarwan included His Excellency Wais Elmi and His Excellency Abdo Mohammed, members of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from the Republic of Djibouti.
For his part, His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan stressed the Council’s keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with the Federal Republic of Somalia, work with its various institutions to consolidate a culture of tolerance and peace, and support institutional development and initiatives aimed at promoting development and prosperity.
In a related context, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace signed two cooperation agreements with the Somali Parliament in its two chambers, during an official ceremony held at the Parliament headquarters in the capital, Mogadishu.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan signed the two agreements with His Excellency Abdi Hashi Abdullah, President of the Somali Senate, and His Excellency Adam Mohamed Nur “Madube”, Speaker of the Somali People’s Assembly, in a step aimed at strengthening parliamentary cooperation and supporting joint efforts to spread the values of tolerance and peace.
The two sides stressed that this partnership constitutes an important impetus in strengthening international parliamentary cooperation and developing initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue, coexistence and peace.
The leaders of the Somali Parliament praised the role played by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in supporting parliamentary work in the areas of tolerance, peace and development, and the international platform it represents for promoting these values through cooperation between parliaments.
For his part, His Excellency Al-Jarwan expressed his appreciation for the serious efforts made by the Somali Parliament to establish a culture of dialogue and stability, stressing the Council’s keenness to implement the provisions of the two agreements in the spirit of purposeful partnership in a way that serves security, peace and development in Somalia and the region.
