Urgent surgical intervention saves a beneficiary from a serious spinal injury at Al-Mahd Hospital

A medical team at Al-Mahd Hospital was able to rescue a beneficiary in his forties after he suffered a serious spinal injury, which required urgent surgical intervention to maintain his health condition and prevent possible complications.
The Medina Health Council explained that the beneficiary arrived at the emergency department, where his condition was dealt with immediately and the necessary medical examinations were performed, which showed an injury next to the spine near the spinal cord, in addition to a rupture of the pleural membrane.
The group stated that the medical team decided to perform an urgent surgical intervention, during which a chest tube was installed to treat the pneumothorax and remove air from the rib cage. The operation – thanks to God – was crowned with success without recording any complications, with the health condition stabilizing and the beneficiary’s sensory and motor neurological functions and vital signs being intact, who recovered and left the hospital in good health.
This success comes within the ongoing efforts made by the Medina Health Council to improve the quality of health services provided to beneficiaries, and to enable medical teams to provide advanced specialized care that contributes to improving treatment results and raising the quality of life.
