"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Honors participants "Pen for creative writing"

Abu Dhabi, December 11 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, within the activities of the Al Ain Book Festival 2025, honored the participants in the “Qalam Creative Writing” program for the year 2025, within the framework of the Children’s Literature Forum, which was attended by an elite group of specialists in the children’s book industry.

His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, said that the Qalam Program for Creative Writing is one of the center’s tools for disseminating the Arabic language, enhancing its presence locally and globally, enabling the production of Arabic content, and advancing Emirati creativity, to support the national cultural scene that is growing and diversifying with new creative writers, through 24 male and female authors, who participated in the program this year, distributed in the story and short workshops, and writing for children, and they are now fully prepared to move forward in A journey of love for words.

He added that the program contributes scientifically and practically to opening the way for Emirati creativity, to be the best representative of Emirati culture, which contains world cultures, in light of the state leadership’s vision of the Arabic language, as one of the most prominent components of national identity.

The “Qalam Creative Writing” program allows Emirati talents to experiment in a creative laboratory, supervised by specialists who guide program participants to the best experiences and practices in the world of creative writing, so that the workshops culminate in the publication of texts in the project, which supports the creativity and authorship movement within Abu Dhabi’s vision for culture and identity, which aims to consolidate authentic cultural values.

The ceremony honoring the participants in “Qalam for Creative Writing” came within the framework of the Children’s Literature Forum: A Contemporary Perspective, which was organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, and discussed the reality of Arab children’s literature and the importance of children’s literature in light of the amazing growth of digital content, and how to keep pace with the transformations in the interests of contemporary children, and the role of literature in building cultural and national identity, and addressing topics characterized by comprehensiveness and diversity, in addition to standards of quality and innovation in children’s books.
