An “ineffective” loss for Al-Wahda to Qatar’s Al-Gharafa in the “elite” Asian Champions League

Al-Wahda suffered its first loss in the AFC Champions League for Elite Clubs, today, Monday, against Al-Gharafa of Qatar, with a free goal, in the sixth round matches, at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Doha.
This loss did not affect Al-Anabi’s journey in the tournament, after it had clinched its qualification since the last round, but it fell to fourth place in the West Asia group standings, leaving its score at 13 points.
After a quiet first half that only witnessed a ball bouncing off the Al Wahda crossbar, the second half was exciting in its details, as goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi was exposed to a direct red card after obstructing Koeman, but Yassine Brahimi hit the crossbar before it went out of the field.
Things returned to normal after Al-Gharafa player Dem Traoré was sent off after receiving two yellow cards. However, the last minutes brought unpleasant news for Al-Anabi, which conceded a fatal goal due to a defensive error. Seydou Sanu capitalized on it and put the ball into the net in the 87th minute.
