Decisive moments frustrate Al-Ahly youth in front of Al-Sadd

Shabab Al-Ahly suffered a severe loss against Al-Sadd of Qatar, with a score of 2-4, in the match that brought them together, yesterday evening, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, in the sixth round of the Al-Gharb Group competitions in the AFC Elite Champions League.
Shabab Al-Ahly took the lead first through Argentine Federico Cartabia in the 47th minute, before Yahya Al-Ghassani increased the score from a penalty kick in the 70th minute, making the team appear on its way to achieving a valuable victory away from home.
However, Al Sadd returned the match to the starting point with a goal by Rafa Mejia in the 75th minute, before the features of the match changed completely in stoppage time, as Tariq Salman scored the equalizer in the 90th + 5th minute, then Mejia returned to score two consecutive goals in the 90th + 11th and 90th + 13th minutes, completing a dramatic remontada that turned the result upside down.
With this loss, Shabab Al-Ahly’s score froze at 10 points, while Al-Sadd raised its score to five points, keeping the conflict open before the next rounds of the group stage.
The “Al-Fursan” battalion is preparing for two heavy-caliber confrontations against Al-Hilal and Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia, during the month of next February, in an attempt to compensate for this loss and return to the path of positive results.
The defeat came as a shock to Shabab Al-Ahly fans, in light of the strong performance presented by the team throughout the match, before losing focus in the decisive moments and conceding four goals in the final minutes.
