Regulating data sharing requests
The general rules for secondary use of data aim to establish controls and procedures that regulate data sharing requests for the purposes of achieving the public interest, or developing research, development and innovation.
These rules also aim to motivate government agencies to share data to support areas of research, development and innovation, and achieve the public interest by improving the efficiency of government agencies’ work and activities, and using data to support decision-making.
