The arrival of the Mohammed bin Rashid humanitarian ship to the port of Al-Arish, loaded with relief aid for the Gaza Strip

Al-Arish, December 31, 2017 – In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, the Mohammed bin Rashid humanitarian ship arrived at the port of Al-Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 3”, loaded with humanitarian and relief aid allocated to support the brothers in the Gaza Strip, in the presence of His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts. To alleviate the suffering of civilians, especially children, women and the elderly.

The ship carries on board various aid with a total tonnage exceeding 7,300 tons, including basic food supplies, shelter supplies and winter clothing, in addition to nutritional supplements intended for children and women, in response to the urgent humanitarian needs in the Strip.

A number of charitable and humanitarian institutions in the UAE contributed to preparing the ship’s cargo, in a way that reflects the integration of national efforts and the solidarity of humanitarian work institutions, within the UAE humanitarian work system that aims to quickly deliver support to those who deserve it in accordance with the highest humanitarian and organizational standards.

Upon the ship’s arrival at the port of Al-Arish, it was received by the competent authorities, and procedures for unloading humanitarian aid began, in preparation for its entry into the Gaza Strip in coordination with humanitarian partners.

Through Operation Gallant Knight 3, the United Arab Emirates affirms its continued firm humanitarian commitment to stand by the brotherly Palestinian people and support relief efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
