With various activities.. Jazan Culture House celebrates International Braille Language Day
Yesterday evening, the Jazan Culture House, in partnership with the Thuraya Association for the Blind, organized cultural and awareness-raising events on the occasion of International Braille Language Day, in the presence of a number of interested people and visitors from various segments of society.
Awareness activities and workshops
The activities included presenting a workshop entitled "Fundamentals of dealing with the blind"It aimed to educate society about the proper ways to deal with Blind people, and introducing their rights and society’s duties towards them, through a practical explanation in Braille and communication methods that support societal integration, in addition to an interactive cultural event entitled "Fingertips read the world"It included interviews with inspiring blind figures who reviewed their life experiences, in addition to artistic performances for the blind, and an accompanying corner introducing the Braille language and its importance as a human language that contributed to enabling the blind to read and know.
The activities came within the efforts of the House of Culture and the Thuraya Association to promote Community awareness, and highlighting the capabilities of the blind and their contributions to cultural life, in line with the goals of cultural development and quality of life.
